Air Vent TIB14SBR 14 in. Brown Aluminum Internally Braced Wind Turbine
Design Considerations Like roof vents, turbines must always be used with adequate soffit venting to meet minimum ventilation code requirements. Homeowners should not be instructed to cover turbines in winter weather because that would prevent needed ventilation. According to federal guidelines, homes require 1 square foot of net free area (the total unobstructed area through which air can enter or exhaust a non-powered vent) for every 150 square feet of attic floor space. If balanced between intake and exhaust vents, the requirement is 1 square foot of net free area for every 300 square feet of attic floor space. Multiple roof vents are usually needed to provide the required net free area. Must be spaced equally over roof to provide sufficient airflow along the entire roof sheathing.
